“We have been working with Tiger Bam for the past 4 years and have found them to be a delight to work with. I have no doubt that without their professionalism, hard work and dedication our festival would by now have ceased to exist. Together we have turned a parade into a festival, and turned our brand into something that commercial sponsors want to invest in and work with. We are delighted to continue working with them.” – Peter Connolly, Director, St. Patrick’s Festival
The Birmingham St Patrick’s Day Parade is recognised as the third largest in the world, following Dublin and New York. The festival takes place throughout various venues in Digbeth, the spiritual home of the Irish in Birmingham. The parade attracts over 90,000 attendees from all walks of life. All of the main roads into Digbeth are closed for the day to allow for a range of Festival activity to take place including a fun run, fun fair, market area selling Irish produce, live music stages, street food, outdoor bar and children’s activities.
Since 2014 Tiger Bam have been appointed as the PR, Marketing & Sponsorship partner of the Festival. Some of our duties include:
We successfully handle the social media channels on behalf of the committee. Since taking over the platforms we have increased the following from 400 ‘likes’ (Facebook) to just under 5000 engaged likes, and Twitter starting with just over 300, to now having just under 3000 followers.
In 2015 due to centralised budget cuts Birmingham City Council withdrew all funding from the St Patricks Parade, resulting in the future of the parade being uncertain due to lack of funds. We are proud to have developed a strategy which resulted in over £80,000 in commercial investment, sponsorship and services-in-kind to ensure the longevity of the festival.
We are also proud to have introduced the first ever St Patrick’s themed fun run called the Emerald Mile, which allowed our attendees to participate in the day, raise money and introduced a new investment opportunity for commercial sponsors.
We also create all artwork on behalf of the committee, which includes adverts, banners, posters, bill boards, menus, and the official Birmingham St Patrick’s Magazine.
We also organise and run the Streetfood market and market area on behalf of the parade committee, we compile the Event Manuals for the Emerald Village, St Pat Rocks, and The Emerald Mile, and attend and consult at all Safety Advisory Guidance meetings.
